Before finding my calling in law, I tried various jobs, searching for what truly resonated. I started with a degree in paralegal studies, then worked as a legal secretary, and even obtains a bachelor criminal justice studies. But it wasn’t until I landed a job in a law firm that they felt a real connection. Juggling work and school, I gained nine years of experience as a paralegal, soaking up knowledge about different areas of law. With the help of a mentor, I set my sights on opening my own law firm. Law school became the next step, a means to achieving this dream. After passing the bar, I swiftly transitioned from working in a law firm to joining a partnership, and eventually - where I am today - the owner of my own practice. As a mother to a toddler, having my own business gives me the flexibility to spend more time with my child and pursue my career. Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the journey that led me to a fulfilling career as a lawyer and I feel this is only the beginning.
