Ciao from New York City!

I am Sonia Monge, an Italian lawyer who recently left the familiar comforts of my homeland for the electrifying buzz of the Big Apple. For the past five years I have navigated the world of civil and commercial litigation in Italy, but my heart yearned for a more international legal stage. I dreamed of making a real impact and contributing to the global legal landscape. So, I took a leap of faith, said goodbye to my steady job and packed my bags for the concrete jungle. My goal? To pursue a master’s degree in IP Law at Cardozo Law School. Let me tell you, it has been a wild ride! Life in New York is a whirlwind of new cultures, unfamiliar customs and occasional subway dysfunction. But in the midst of the chaos, I discovered a new appreciation for the unwavering support of my family and my inner resilience. I persevered, fueled by the belief that I had something valuable to offer the legal world. And on June 3, I proudly donned my graduation cap, officially becoming a master’s degree holder! It was a moment of immense pride, not only for myself, but also for my family who supported me every step of the way. This radical career change was a testament to my unwavering belief in myself and my commitment to reach my full potential. I knew I had the skills, passion, and determination to succeed in this new field and I was ready to bet on myself. As I embark on this new and exciting chapter, I am full of expectations and eager to seize the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
