I’m Flavio DaCosta, a native of Brazil who embarked on a journey to chase the American Dream. As a first-generation immigrant to the United States, I encountered hurdles as the first college graduate in my family and a minority without privilege. Yet, fueled by determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, I forged ahead, driven by the vision of establishing my own law firm dedicated to immigration law and advocating for those in need. Launching my own practice shortly after becoming barred allowed me to find genuine fulfillment in guiding clients along the path to lawful citizenship, breathing life into their American Dreams, and my own. Having navigated my own personal path to lawful citizenship, I understand the profound challenges and complexities involved legal avenues, and driven by my aptitude for equitable problem-solving, I serve part-time as a mediator at The Mediation Group and as a member of the Board of Directors at The Resolution Center. When I’m not immersed in lawyering, I don my Director of Operations hat for Plona Partners, a boutique legal recruitment agency. Here, I have the privilege of showcasing my organizational skills to a fantastic team spread across the globe, while also merging my passion for law with strategic acumen to guide our team toward success in a dynamic legal market. In an industry fraught with conformity, I stand firm in my authenticity. My journey serves as a testament to the power of staying true to oneself amidst pressures to conform.
