Choosing law as a profession in Pakistan is not commonly done by women and even more rare when I look at my upbringing, I’ve never really been supported or encouraged by family and friends. To be honest it’s been quiet the opposite but I knew it’s something I have to do. Living in Pakistan I decided to pursue an international degree which was from university for London, the language barrier plus the differences in the curriculum in the UK and Pakistan are two worlds apart. I feel like the cards have always been stacked against me but I’ve had to study harder just to be equal. I failed once but I didn’t lose hope. I’ve always known this is what I’ve wanted to do and treated as a all or nothing scenario. Learning more about law everyday, it gives me power of awareness which excites me the most. I am keen in advocating for women rights in Pakistan. I I am also very active on social media as an influencer creating awareness about mental health and fashion. But LLB is only the first step, I’ve got aspirations of becoming a judge. What’s made me fearless is knowing if I can fail, I can reset and try again until I’m there.
